Glossary: Lead Generation
Lead generation refers to the obtaining of data from prospective buyers in order to develop them into new customers. A lead is a personal data set, e.g. name and email address which is provided by the customer. This generally takes place via a registration form on a website. A lead enables the company to enter into a dialogue with the customer, e.g. to send him an email newsletter.
